Love Runs Blind, often abbreviated as LRB, is a Bangladeshi rock band formed in 1991 in Chittagong City by Ayub Bachchu. They are one of the most successful bands of Bangladesh.[2] Since their formation, they have released thirteen studio albums, one live album and two compilation albums. They have also appeared in several mixed albums. They are considered to be among the pioneers of Bangladeshi hard rock music. They were originally formed as a hard rock band, but have experimented with many subgenres of rock and roll.[3][4]

After signing with Sargam Records, LRB released the first double album in Bangladesh, LRB I and LRB II in 1992. Their 3rd album "সুখ (Happiness)" (1993) helped them to get more commercial success in the country, and featured the song "চলো বদলে যায় (Let's Change)", which is among one of the most popular rock songs in Bangladesh. Their popularity continued with hit albums like "তবুও (Yet)" (1994), "ঘুমন্ত শহরে (In the Sleeping City)" (1995) etc. In September 1996, they released "Ferari Mon: Unplugged Live", which was the first live album in Bangladesh. They are the only Bangladeshi band to perform in the Madison Square Garden, New York. They rose to mainstream fame in the early 1990s and is part of "Big Three of Rock" along with Ark and Nagar Baul, who were responsible for popularizing hard rock music in Bangladesh in the 1990s.[5][6] In October 2018, lead singer and lead guitarist of the band Ayub Bachchu, died of cardiac failure in his own residence. Bachchu gave his last performance in Rangpur, Bangladesh, four days before his death.

LRB is considered to be one of the most influential and successful rock bands of Bangladesh. The Top Tens ranked them number 4 on their list of "Top 10 Rock Bands of Bangladesh".[7] They have won a record six Meril Prothom Alo Awards and a Citycell-Channel I Music Award in 2007.

LRB changes name to ‘Balam & The Legacy’

Following the request from the family members of legendary rock musician Ayub Bachchu, his band - LRB has recently changed their name to “Balam & The Legacy," according to a recent press statement.
After the death of LRB frontman Bachchu on October 18, last year, the iconic Bangladeshi rock band announced their new lead vocal Balam Jahangir, a popular singer and former vocalist of the rock band Warfaze.
The announcement came on April 5 - the 28th anniversary of LRB, at an event in a restaurant at capital’s Baily Road.
Speaking about the name change, band members told the press that the band will continue their activities until further notice under the new name, respecting the request made by Ayub Bachchu’s family members of not using the name LRB anymore.
Abdullah Al Masud, guitarist of the band told the Dhaka Tribune: “Changing the name was not easy for us either. I would request everybody to respect the decision if they love Bachchhu bhai, and LRB.”
“We want our fans to be patient as we do not want any kind of controversy and negative energy. I would also request the media to be supportive and helps us prevent misunderstanding and negativity,” he added.

Balam steps up for irreplaceable Bachchu

On Friday, April 5, iconic Bangladeshi rock band LRB celebrated its 28th birthday. Unlike previous instances, it was a solemn affair, as it was the first time that the band had greeted the public without founding front man and guitar legend Ayub Bachchu, who died in October 2018.
During an event at Cafe Thirty3 on Baily Road, under the tagline "The legacy continues," renowned vocalist Balam Jahangir was announced as the new frontman of LRB. Balam is a veteran in the Bangladeshi rock scene, having been a vocalist for Warfaze alongside a successful solo career.
Addressing the birthday celebration, Balam said: "Nobody can replace Bachchu Bhai. He is irreplaceable. This is a huge responsibility, that I took out of my love and respect for both LRB and Bachchu Bhai. I just want to support LRB in continuing it's journey." Everyone present expressed their support and wished the band good luck in this new phase of their journey.

LRB guitarist Abdullah Al Masud told the Dhaka Tribune’s Showtime: “We still can’t believe that Bachchu bhai is not with us anymore, it is very hard for us to perform on stage without him.”
“It is a new beginning for us and, we want to carry on the legacy for which we want support from our fans, well-wishers, and friends,” he added.
On April 5, 1991, Ayub Bachchu, Swapan, Joy, and SI Tutul formed LRB.

LRB releases new album Rakhe Allah Mare Ke

Robi Radio, a pocket FM radio for the subscribers of mobile operator Robi, released the album on Thursday, June 30, at its Gulshan office in Dhaka. In order to listen to the songs, subscribers can simply dial 80805. “The service also enables listeners to listen to the stories behind the making of the songs,” said Mahmud Hasan Foysal, general manager, Robi Axiata Ltd Value Added Services.
This number has been set solely for the veteran band.
Motiul Islam Noushad, chief corporate and people officer, and Ikram Kabir, vice president, communications and corporate responsibility of Robi Axiata Ltd were also present at the event.
There are eight songs in the album of which, four songs can be heard initially by dialling 80805. These are – “Rakhe Allah mare ke,” “Mon,” “Nacho” and “Tomra 11 jon.”
Sajjad Hussain has written the lyrics for the title song while Ayub Bacchu and Irfan have written the rest. “Tomra 11 jon” is designed to motivate the cricketers of Bangladesh.
The rest of the four songs will be available in a few days. The Robi Yonder Music app also released LRB's new song “Cholo Jai on the same day.
The line-up of the band has changed since the band's drummer Romel was replaced by Shishir a few months ago. The rest of the members remain the same as Ayub Bacchu (vocal and lead guitar), Shwapan (base guitar), Masud (second hand guitar and vocal) and Shamim (manager and sound engineer).
LRB celebrated its 25th year of journey this year. The band released its last album Juddho back in 2012.
