Balam steps up for irreplaceable Bachchu

During an event at Cafe Thirty3 on Baily Road, under the tagline 'The legacy continues,' renowned vocalist Balam Jahangir was announced as the new frontman of LRB.
On Friday, April 5, iconic Bangladeshi rock band LRB celebrated its 28th birthday. Unlike previous instances, it was a solemn affair, as it was the first time that the band had greeted the public without founding front man and guitar legend Ayub Bachchu, who died in October 2018.
During an event at Cafe Thirty3 on Baily Road, under the tagline "The legacy continues," renowned vocalist Balam Jahangir was announced as the new frontman of LRB. Balam is a veteran in the Bangladeshi rock scene, having been a vocalist for Warfaze alongside a successful solo career.
Addressing the birthday celebration, Balam said: "Nobody can replace Bachchu Bhai. He is irreplaceable. This is a huge responsibility, that I took out of my love and respect for both LRB and Bachchu Bhai. I just want to support LRB in continuing it's journey." Everyone present expressed their support and wished the band good luck in this new phase of their journey.

LRB guitarist Abdullah Al Masud told the Dhaka Tribune’s Showtime: “We still can’t believe that Bachchu bhai is not with us anymore, it is very hard for us to perform on stage without him.”
“It is a new beginning for us and, we want to carry on the legacy for which we want support from our fans, well-wishers, and friends,” he added.
On April 5, 1991, Ayub Bachchu, Swapan, Joy, and SI Tutul formed LRB.
